About us: My Mummy Dreams
The non-maternal mummy
At 31 years-old I had no intention of having children. A self-proclaimed workaholic employed by the UK’s best airline, my life revolved around jet-setting to exotic locations, fine dining and luxury purchases. Not selfish – just self indulgent!
Upon finding out that my fiance and I were expecting a baby, I had premonitions of my luxuries vanishing, my identity fizzling out and my daily gym visits coming to a grinding halt. Not at any point did I envision my maternal instinct kicking in.
As I neared my due date I forced myself to join virtual mum groups and forums (Covid-19 prevented actual meet-ups), and rehearsed becoming more like the parents-to-be who were processing, discussing and excited by every single element of parenthood… especially reusable nappies!
Inspiring My Mummy Dreams
While I am yet to become a fully maternal mum-to-be, with only 5 weeks until D-Day, I recognised the need to build My Mummy Dreams. A guilt-free network for mums to indulge in all things parenthood (the good, the bag and the ugly) and life. Recognising that Motherhood doesn’t mean giving up our dreams.
My Mummy Dreams provides a platform to share mum hacks and relatable chats. An escape from reality for Mummy’s who refuse to give up their dreams, but aren’t afraid to see them evolve!
